SharpBASIC supports two types of comments. The first is a single line comment, which starts with a single quote:

Code: Select all

' this is a comment
Single line comments can also be placed behind statements:

Code: Select all

decl sub test();   'test subroutine
The second type is a multi-line or block comment. The beginning of a multi-line comment starts with a forward slash immediately followed by a single quote. The end is marked by a single quote followed by a forward slash:

Code: Select all

/' This is a multi-line comment.
   Multiple lines can be added, e.g.
   to tell about a subroutine '/
sub test()
do
  ' ...
end
